Tosokchon Ginseng Chicken

I crave for Korean ginseng chicken so badly and must eat them every time I visit Korea
Regardless of season, be it winter or summer

During winter, all I want to do is sip this hot pipping soup and feel the warmth spread through my body
During summer, all the more we should eat ginseng chicken!
This dish is exceptionally popular during bok days (복날)
Bok days are the three hottest days of the year according to Lunar Calendar
It believed that the nutrients from the dish will protect one from illness and provide strength
I need lots of strength to continue sight seeing in Korea
Heh~

My favourite store would be Tosokchon Ginseng Chicken 토속촌삼계탕
The location is easily accessible, and most importantly, they serve very yummy ginseng chicken!


How to get to Tosokchon Ginseng Chicken

Take Seoul subway line 3, and alight at Gyeongbokgung Station (경복궁역) Exit 2


Walk straight and these are some of the shops you will see along the way




Turn left at this GS25 shop onto Jahamun-ro 5-gil Road


Tosokchon Ginseng Chicken is right in front of you!

Every bowl of ginseng chicken comes with a small cup of ginseng wine or insamju (인삼주)
Pour it in, mix well and get ready to enjoy the delicious soup broth and soft tender chicken!

Stress

I had a nightmare last night
Dreamt that i was going to have an examination the next day
Yet I was only halfway through revision
While trying hard to study, my mum kept appearing to talk to me
I felt so irritated for being interrupted

On the day of exam, I thought my parents would gave me a ride to exam hall
I happily boarded their car, thinking I could study along the way
It turned out they were only dropping my sister off at the place she wanted, which was far from exam hall
I was so sulky and lost in my dream
Anyway I boarded a bus that was going to travel for an hour before I reached my exam hall
Luckily for me, the exam was set for 1pm in the afternoon and I left house at 9am in the morning
I wouldn't be late at all

The next moment I knew, the exam will be delayed to 3pm
This was a relieve for me because I could study more~

And then I woke up... ...

Weekend Staycation

Val and I came across a good groupon deal some months back
We paid $288 in total for an executive hotel room, 1hr massage, and a bottle of wine
Since both of us are September babies
We thought we'd just take the chance to relax our mind, body and soul
Teehee!

The long awaited weekend finally came!
We were pleased with our room!
Wish the bed could be bigger though, to fit 4 of us XD

The bathroom is quite big
It has a shower area and a bathtub!
Too bad I didn't get a chance to use the bathtub
Very satisfied with the room on the overall~

After our massage and checking in, we left for dinner at Mariners' Corner Restaurant!
Such a quiet and cozy place, with yummy food!
The best part, it was within walking distance from the hotel~

I was trying to take selca with Meijun
Ended up Shan took the camera over and snap it for us
Hee~

Meijun is such a good target to tease!
She looked at this photo and commented I look slimmer with the camera angle
I replied perhaps I am slim myself and it's not the camera angle that makes me look so
I could see her eyeballs moving left and right, trying to find words to appease me
Joking please! LOL!!!!!!

Val was so sweet to come up with so much props for photo taking!
We had so much fun~

I have no idea why I keep looking very weird with these same props

We went for a swim early morning the next day and checked out of the hotel at noon
Chanced upon pretty buildings while we were on a quest for yummy brunch

Finally reached the Group Therapy!

Everyone was super sleepy after the brunch
We stayed up late playing cards games like Uno, Monopoly Deal, Mahjong the night before
It was all showing on our faces

Definitely looking forward to the next staycation with the girls ♥

전쟁

I dreamt of Yesung on Tuesday night!
But I couldn't remember any details there after
I even woke up in the middle of the night and tried to recall the dream
Satisfied with myself on the result, then drift back into sleep
I knew I was even smiling to myself (Facepalm
Argh!

My dream on wednesday night wasn't too well
To dream that you are late signifies your fear of change and your ambivalence about seizing an opportunity. 
You may feel unready, unworthy, or unsupported in your current circumstances. 
Additionally, you may be overwhelmed or conflicted with decisions about your future. 
Time is running out and you no longer have time to accomplish all the things you want. 
It must be because of my job
I have been working non stop since 12 years ago
A break may mean well for me, but I get equally uneasy without income
And my birthday at the same time, is like a time bomb, telling me my 30 is near
I couldn't stop thinking about it!!!!
I don't want to grow older ㅠㅠ

On a lighter note,  I dreamt of myself attending a concert last night
Super Junior was next up on stage
Somehow, Yesung was walking right past me to get to the stage
I murmured 화이팅 under my breath but I guess he didn't catch it
Everything was in slow motion then, him walking past me, and me thinking what to do

Tanning at Gardens by the Bay

I am like way overdue on this post because I totally forgot about the photos lying in my camera
No, this has got nothing to do with aging!
Don't you dare put that into your head

Anyway my friend's nephew, BBB was going to move to Perth for years
We got leaked news that BBB would beat Gardens by the Bay on one fine weekend
So Val and I decided to appear and act like we accidentally bump into them!
Excellent Plan!

It was more nerve wrecking than stalking kpop stars like Super Junior!
We were worried about his mood for the day, whether he would be exhausted, willingness to take photos.
To add on, we were slightly worried about raining since where we wanted to visit is outdoors
Turned out our worries about the weather were too uncalled for
The sun was very generous and I turned two shades darker when I reached home at the end of the day ㅠㅠ
Should have applied sunblock before I go
Sobs Sobs~

The oh-so-beautiful Marina Bay Sands Hotel
I miss swimming in the infinity pool at level 57
But definitely not in this weather at this time
I'm very sure I'd skip the sunburn portion and immediately turn charcoal black

I like blue sky and white clouds
Probably because of my obsession with Yesung from Super Junior ☁
Teeeeheeee!

Singapore looks so green under the blue blue sky!



I have already resorted to umbrella from this point onwards
And it was just the starting of the trail!

You have no idea how much I wanted to jump under this lion to let it spit over me


Val and I finally found shelter to hide from the toxic sun
We were so reluctant to go back under the sun to venture
So we decided to get ice-cream!!!!!!
Nothing beats an icy cold cup of ice-cream to ease the heat away


And we bump into BBB!

He used to let me carry him when he was younger
But since he start recognizing faces, I'm not in his list anymore (Saddened

Jeju Island, I'm Finally Here!

We arrived in Jeju Island and it was raining
Not surprising at all for a place that has only 30plus days worth of sunny days

We took off looking for the bus stop once we got clearance from immigrations

I love taking pictures of mailbox in every country Don't you think they somehow stand for the unique culture of each country?

We've arrived at our hotel! Hooray! The accommodation we picked in the middle of the night, after reading through countless reviews on websites

The room is big enough for three people! We played Scissors Paper Stone and I won The huge bed was all MINE! Teehee~ (Rolls Around

This photo is so funny I was trying to make the entire bathroom look big Ended up I squeezed myself outta the bathroom leaving only my arms in there with the camera

The hotel outer view Most of the buildings in Jeju Island are not high rise building So no worries about view being blocked Anyway the hotel looks very newly renovated In terms of service, the receptionists were super helpful! They offered advice on our day 2 route and even helped us book an individual car for next day We checked in and started roaming around the hotel vicinity Rain was so heavy that umbrellas were useless Don't ask me why I didn't bring my raincoat out I totally forgot about its presence It was lying happily in my luggage >.<

We passed by Lotte Hotel and decided to go in for a visit It is at a total different level from our hotel The renovations were so posh and high class But it's alright, our hotel was warm and cozy!

The following dishes were ordered when we weren't in a very hungry condition

This saba fish was so delicious There were few fish bones, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside Most importantly, it's downright fresh!

This is the most anticipated dish of all Abalones, clams, mussels, scallops, prawns and so much seafood that I've seen for the first time There were some we didn't dare to eat... ... ... ORZ

A must eat when we come to Jeju Island: Abalone Porridge Abalones are caught by women who risked their lives without diving equipments The taste is truly heaven ㅠㅠ

Ready to dig in!!! You'd understand why we couldn't finish everything from the look of the table right? Such a pity 엉엉~

With our stomach filled, we left for our first sightseeing spot of the day!

We saw a newly wed the moment we stepped in~ I have no idea why my head looks so big in this picture Reminds me of "The Dog" series LOL
