Birthday 2013

I finally got a new hard disk to back up all my existing photos, thus clearing up RAM for photo editing on my Mac. Yay! I managed to get us cheap Universal Studio tickets for my birthday at $48 each! A pity that we bought it for my birthday and Heechul from Super Junior was in USS the day before. I guess it's fate that we miss each other?

Anyway a day before my birthday, we were having buffet dinner at Sentosa Mövenpick Hotel. Gunhee (Heechul's hairstylist) was walking by and smiled at me. I was having a mouthful of food and stunned myself short when he did that. My unglam self argh!

Fast forwarding to my birhday, weather was good on my birthday and I get to eat my churros! Yahoooooo!

We were in time to see Sesame Street and took photo with Cookie Monster! C is for Cookie and Cookie is for me~~~~ (Sings)

And then there's Puss in Boots and Fairy Godmother!

Fairy Godmother, can you grant me a boyfriend next year?

My company for the day!

Human and Cyclone rides were down for maintenance unfortunately. We left USS quite early and headed over to Le'toile Cafe to chill for the rest of the day. The girls were so sweet to take in song requests and sang for me. We had a good time.

Thank you for spending the day with me girls ♥

National Day 2013 Preview

I am so overdue on my posts! I won some tickets to watch National Day 2013 Preview Show so I brought my mum along. It's been so long since I went for National Day Live Show! The last time I did was probably secondary school days.

I wasn't feeling well that day. Before the show, I was still dozing off at Starbucks. The sun was too toxic. I immediately grew even more sick after the show.

I was so afraid to go hungry for the show that I bought Smoothie King + Subway Set to the show. I forgot there is a big goodie bag with lots of water and snacks to keep us through.

Eager to take pictures before I even set the items down. Teehee!

The National Flag that flew above our heads. I must say the stage looks good with Marina Bay Sands Hotel behind.

The seats we got was pretty good! I'm really glad I won the tickets.

Ending the post with the super big and creepy talking Merlion.

As I'm typing this post, I'm sick again! It's like the 3rd time these few months and each time it takes weeks for me to recover. Argh! Drink more water and take more vitamin C peeps!

Random Ramblings

August passes in a blink of eye, and September is here. Wooosh! September is already halfway gone. I was just celebrating my birthday last week. The next moment, I realised I am on my way to next birthday. Gosh! We spent the young years wishing time would pass faster, and we'd grow big enough to make our own decisions. Now, I wish time could reverse and have someone make my decisions for me, telling me it's for my own good.

My emotions are all over the place. Accidentally let my well hidden drawer chest loose and emo nemo came swimming out.

Time to screw the chest back in place.

Cosmos People Descended Upon Singapore

I went Switch for the first time in July to catch a live performance by Cosmos People, a band from Taiwan. To my surprise, Switch is quite a big venue. It gives me the vibe of Timbre. No wonder everyone whom I spoke to, told me it is the Chinese version of Timbre. Timbre basically plays English songs, and Switch plays Mandarin songs on top of English songs.

Anyway we were sitting very near the stage, first table in fact. So we had a very good view of the performers! Yay! The ambience in Switch is quite good, given the dim lighting. Warm, cozy fuzzy feeling.

I didn't take a lot of pictures because most important part is to enjoy the performance with our eyes, ears and heart. Switch doesn't limit taking of pictures though. So bring on your DSLR if you like!!!

The last time I saw them live was back in year 2010 when I took a 3D2N trip to Kaohsiung just to watch them and Wonfu performed. Those were the days~~~~

The band that changed in members, leaving only 2 familiar faces I know of.

I quite like the above picture though my favourite member of this group is blocked here. The vocalist looking like he owned the world.

We got autographs, handshakes and photos with the band. Awesome!

To top it off, we happened to have supper nearby the concert venue and the band joined us shortly after. I had to work the next day so I left around midnight on cab. It was cool enough to be having supper with the band. Totally rocks the night!

Nails Got Pampered

If you've been following my instagram or paying attention to my instagram widget on the right of this page, you'd probably notice I have been trying to DIY my own nails recently.

I tried nail art but I failed at art. Look at the mess I made.

I tried water decal. Application is easy but they come off once I start hand washing my clothes.

I gave up and turned to the professional.

Yay! I haven't had french manicured nails for such a long time! Yes, because they are done professionally and beautifully, I can post a larger picture. Heh~

Anyway I've been down with viral infection, coughing and sneezing nonstop. The only consolation is that I'm no longer having a fever. I have a sexy voice now and my voice cracks when I try to laugh. My abs hurt from my over-coughing. I wanna recover... ... ㅠㅠ

Nothing can stop me from going out and enjoy the long weekend though. Took this selfie when I was waiting for my cuppa Smoothie King. Cold drink for cough is no good right? Oopsie!

My selfie failed here. The focus was on my face and blurring my friends as background? LOL!

Anyway if I still don't get well, I should go visit doctor again. Everyone please drink more water! Enjoy the long weekend if you're in Singapore!

First Time Trying Out Jollibee!

I had an enjoyable gathering with my Uni friends last night. I laughed so much that my voice is coarse today and my throat feels like it's burning. I thought about what we talked last night and I can still find myself grinning sheepishly.

We went Jollibee at Lucky Plaza for dinner. The place is huge but the long queue is horrendous. We queued for more than half an hour before we get to order. Considering it's a fast food restaurant, the waiting time is way too long.

Usually we secure ourselves seats before we order. At Jollibee, we're supposed to queue and order food before we locate seats. Hence most of the time, you see people wandering around with trays of food on their hand looking for seats. This system doesn't really work when we have a group of people. For example, how do you expect 10 people to queue for food together, then find seats for 10 with all the food on hand?

We were persistent in trying out Jollibee though. We studied it as one of the case studies for our final University double credit module thus the significance to us!

The portion is quite small actually. On my good days, I think I can gobble 2 sets by myself. Taste wise, I'd say it's good! I'll definitely visit again if I can skip the queue.

We headed over to Paris Baguette for desserts after that.

Look at the pretty cakes! We 4 girls finished everything on our own and the guys didn't even get a taste of it. Til the last bite, we were still squealing at how good the cakes tasted.

Then it was nonstop picture snaping time! Uh-huh!

That's right, the 4 of us gobbled up all the cakes. Yums... I want another Strawberry Shortcake please ㅠㅠ

I was listening to these 2 bickering from my left and right all night long. And that includes listening to them repeat conversations again and again. They gave us so much laughter throughout the night. <3

Ending the post with another group picture. Hope we get to meet again!

I am who I am

I was randomly surfing the net and came across a poem that left a deep impression. Reading more into what inspired the writer, I was even more intrigued.

There was a winner of the Yook Woo-dang Literary Prize in April this year, that reignited the debate about accepting homosexuals in Korea. The prize was held in honor of the tenth anniversary of the suicide of nineteen-year-old Yoon Mo (pen name Yook Woo-dang) in April of 2003. Yook Woo-dang wrote this poem about his life: “Complaint”.

The world calls us monsters
So we live in hiding
But aren’t we human beings?

People gather together and form a community on their own. When you don't agree with the community, they start calling you names and kick you away. They read behind whatever you said, and reiterate them in a way they are comfortable for sharing. It doesn't matter if what they shared was the truth anymore. The main purpose is to find more people in joining them.

Yet I am not who they say I am. No one can define me. I may have chosen to distant myself away from these people, but it doesn't mean I am in agreement to what they have said or have to say.

Aren't we human beings?

They fail to see me as a person and treat me with respect. It doesn't matter. Continue smearing my name for all I care. I believe in retribution and you'll get yours one day.

At the end of the day, I am who I am.

Random Day, Random Meet Up

Life is slowly going at a comfortable pace that I could get used to. I had some meet ups with people whom I haven't seen for a long time and missed dearly. It is good to know most of them are doing well and genuinely happy.

I met up with ex-colleague Jessica for a meal a few weeks ago. Out of the Pan was having a 1 for 1 promotion for either waffles or crepes for DBS credit/debit card holders. Jessica was telling me how good it was, so I decided to give it a try.

I'm sorry my photo didn't do it any justice. It was yums! Due to the promotion, it was like half price. If you haven't tried it before, this is definitely the time to do so!

It's been almost a year since I last saw Jessica and we had so much to talk about. I'm glad to know she's still happily in love. Work may be awful, at least there's someone to look forward to seeing after work. Sigh~ I wanna be in love too! I should widen my circle of friends! Side track... ... ...

Anyway, we proceeded on to coffee at Tiong Bahru Bakery. I have been introducing everyone to this place since my first visit last year.

It serves good coffee with pretty latte art. Their bread and cakes are delicious too. We ordered a Chocolate Tart that day and was surprised to find fruits (orange, apricot and fig) in the tart. Most importantly, this place is accessible by train and buses. Very convenient! The coffee and cake here turned out to be more expensive than our dinner at Out of the Pan though. ㅋㅋㅋ

Ending the post with a photo of me and Jessica.

No idea why my dimple on my right cheek looks like dirt on my face. LOL! I'm trying to do away with bangs, so fringe is forever clipped up. The length is just so awkward at the moment. It dosen't even stay when I clipped them up because they're too short. Grrr...

Anyway I didn't bring my camera out that day so my Note took grainy pictures without flash. Thanks for bearing with me peeps.

Kuala Lumpur Mayday Concert "No-Where"

This is another outdated post. (Coughs) I went Malaysia Kuala Lumpur in March with some friends to catch Mayday's concert "No-Where". Despite the close proximity my house is to the causeway linking to Malaysia, I don't travel there often. I kinda miss the days I used to travel to Johor Bahru just for cheap and good massage. Needless to say Kuala Lumpur, where it's further deep in Malaysia. Since it's been some time since I last visit Kuala Lumpur, naturally I was looking forward to the trip.

The check in counter staff was weird. My friend and I checked in together and the staff even asked whether either of us wanted aisle seat. My friend wanted aisle seat and I had no preference. When I got the tickets, I got a surprise. My friend did get an aisle seat, and me a middle seat. But we were seated on different sides of the air craft. It's not like the counter staff was trying to give us an entire row to ourselves. I had different people sitting on my left and right side on board the air craft.  Thankfully a guy was kind enough to exchange seats with us, so we get to sit together.

The most important item to bring on the trip: entrance ticket! The first thing I boarded the flight was to ask whether my friend brought the tickets. Not that there's anything I could do by the time we were on the flight to realize tickets were not with us. LOL~

It was my friend's birthday! We arrived at the hotel to sing happy birthday song and ate cake. Such a coincidence to be having birthday on the day of concert. Heh~

The rest of us on the trip. On board a cab towards venue for lunch!

Somehow we managed to stand second row in the mosh pit. It was so upclose and personal. So many times the members came over to smile at us, recognizing we were from Singapore. The last two photos in the concert venue was taken using my mobile phone. I didn't bring my camera in and I could even capture Monster looking at my me. (Melts)

Next day was Old Town White Coffee prawn mee and coffee for our first meal. I am missing the taste of this prawn mee already! It tastes way better than what I have in Singapore!

Then it was my favorite Krispy Kreme before we head to the airport for home. Late last year there was news of Krispy Kreme coming to Singapore but why is it not here yet? Where art thou Krispy Kreme~~~~~

Soon it is Singapore's turn for Mayday World Tour of "No-Where". I've bought my tickets. How about you?

Everland in Korea II

I'm determined to bring account of Everland trip to an end today so be prepared for photobomb! Heh~ Continued this post from here.

After lunch, I wanted to wash my hands and found the basin so cute! Duckie~

Then there were even more animals to see.

The sea lions were so clever! See the one above standing! Cute! And the show was such a cooling escapade from the hot summer because the venue is air-conditioned.

We ventured outdoors bravely once again and this picture with monkey king (?) is like a prelude of the many monkeys we gonna be seeing.

And there's even sea animals like penguins and polar bears.

I was chasing this duck around trying to take a good picture of it but it just kept running. I can't believe I was playing "Catching" game with this duck! So funny XD

Flamingo! So graceful in its own ways.

There was a crowd surrounding this cutie little thing because he kept fishing into the air with its hands, as though looking for something. Oh I just realized it has crescent shaped eyes!

Hedwig! Have you landed in Korea? Where is your master Harry Potter?

Awwww~ She's looking at me with her arms crossed! Such a graceful baby!

Here comes the most exciting ride in Everland! Entire roller coaster made of wood including the tracks. This is the 90 degrees drop! There is no safety harness, just a safety seat belt at the waist. The crew was guiding us to do some stretching exercises before the ride to refrain from getting hurt during the ride. I was so nervous before taking this ride, but once I started I couldn't stop! I went for it twice and still wanted more. This is truly addictive! Everyone please go and try!

My favourite snack, churros, to reward myself after the exhilarating rides. Why can't I find them readily available in Singapore? Sobs... I was just talking to a Korean on Instagram the other day and she was sharing with me a place that serves good churros in Seoul! I must go try soon! (Nods Head)

Can you spot the roller coaster ride behind me? (Eyes Glittering)

As it's the rose festival, there were so much flowers everywhere!

Probably because of rose festival, it's supposed to be romantic. So there were a lot of heart decorations around too. I started off being excited and took as many photos as I could. Gradually... ... I got sick of it because I'm always alone. Sobs...

See! Even the chair looks empty with me sitting on it alone. I gave up trying to take pictures with hearts after this. #ForeverAlone

Yes, giraffe reminds me of Ryeowook again. There is a ferris wheel in the background that I didn't get to sit in. Prolly next time...

The sky started to darken and it was time to leave Everland. I want to come again!

Ending the day with Korean BBQ and Makkoli (Korean rice wine) when we returned to Myeongdong. I hope you're reading this post at night. This way we can get hungry together and grow fat together at night. (Munches snacks)

Okay... I shall not be mean. Ending this post with the cute fennec fox instead. I took so many pictures of them! I'm not kidding when I said I really want to bring one home as a pet!

Good night!
